energyhive was a unique service which let you cost effectively measure and monitor your energy consumption. We believe that it is only when you can see your consumption and compare it to others' that you can change your behavior. Changing behavior and identifying inefficient appliances is what you need to do to reduce your bills - when you see how much electricity your iron consumes you definitely turn it off rather than leaving it on while you chat on the phone! One of our members replaced his fridge after seeing what was happening overnight.

Our technical strength is due to the technical team at Hildebrand who developed and built energyhive. Hildebrand designed the system to be quick, efficient and able to support millions of users all over the world. Hildebrand's energy expertise is extensive and includes the technical leadership role on the European-funded research project DEHEMS (which studied how technology can be used to improve domestic energy efficiency) and the company are responsible for the consumer portal and advanced in-home display development for Australia's first commercial-scale smart grid.
