Learning and sharing

Research is a critical part of what we do – energyhive is the outcome of our work on a European research project (DEHEMS) which studied how technology can be used to improve domestic energy efficiency. Our intention is to continue to learn and share our learnings with the research community.

We work with several of the world's leading academic and research institutes exploring environmental and behavioural change as part of our ongoing efforts to help provide people with the information, user experience and practical motivators to reduce their domestic energy consumption. Our research partners include Oxford University's Environmental Change Institute, the Centre for New Technologies, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CENTIVE) at Cass Business School and Coventry University's Engineering & Computer Science Faculty.

If you would like to talk to us about participating in a research project or, if you are an academic institution interesting in gaining access to our data, please contact us.

Note: all our data is anonymised and it would be impossible to identify individual households. A full description of our position on data and security is available on our FAQ page.
